2、referred to as the travels of“Eunuch Sanbao to the Western Ocean”(三保太監(jiān)下西洋)or“Zheng He to the Western Ocean”,from 1405 to 1433.Zheng He was the second son of a Muslim(穆斯林)family which also had four daughters,from Kunyang(昆陽(yáng)),present day Jinning(晉寧),just south of Kunming near the southwest corner of L

3、ake Tian in Yunnan.Between 1405 and 1433,the Ming government sponsored(發(fā)起)a series of seven naval(海軍的)expeditions.Zheng He was placed as the admiral in control of the huge fleet and armed forces that undertook these expeditions.Zheng Hes ships,as depicted(描繪)in a Chinese woodblock(木版)print.One of a
